Dr. Abby Perone,

Dr. Perone is an athlete, a practicing sports clinician, and a teacher, residing in St. Petersburg, FL. Dr. Perone received her B.A. in English Literature and Psychology from Western State University of Colorado and her B.S.in Human Anatomy and Doctorate in Chiropractic from Parker University in Dallas, TX. Abby has experienced a rapidly-progressing, and exciting career as a sports medicine clinician. In 2010, she was selected to be a part of a Sports Medicine team for the Colombian Olympic Committee in Bogota, Colombia where she worked with athletes ranging from gymnasts to marathoners to track & field athletes and tennis players. Dr. Perone then served on the Sports Medicine team for the NASL National Champion soccer team, the San Antonio Scorpions FC, in 2014 & 2015. She was also selected to serve on the Airrosti Athlete Services team for multiple CrossFit Regionals events and the CrossFit Games from 2013 -2016. Abby served as an Airrosti Provider and member of the Airrosti Rehab Centers Clinical Development team from 2012-2017, training and onboarding hundreds of new Airrosti Chiropractors, Physical Therapists, and recovery specialists. Dr. Perone worked as the Director of Training & Clinical Projects and taught new Airrosti Providers how to evaluate musculoskeletal injury, identify the cause of movement dysfunction, and how to rapidly and effectively get patients out of pain. At Airrosti, Dr. Perone underwent leadership training and then had the opportunity to lead and educate her peers through performing on-site clinical evaluations and through developing and implementing leadership opportunities for Airrosti providers.

Abby has expanded her teaching platform to travel around the country teaching for Rocktape and PESI Education and currently serves in her clinic locations from North Tampa to South Sarasota and Philadelphia. Dr. Perone also had a special focus on rehabilitation patients from regenerative medicine procedures and works with EXOS Sports Medicine at Regenexx Tampa Bay and Tampa, FL.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Perone is a creative writer, runner and crossfit athlete, a strong believer in the power of gratitude and mindfulness, and an avid traveler with her family.

Dr. Ronald Torrance II,

Dr. Torrance was born in Erie, Pennsylvania, and when he was 12, his family moved to Sarasota, Florida. In Sarasota, Dr. Torrance developed his love for sports, excelling in basketball, football, and baseball. In 2004, he graduated from Sarasota’s Riverview High School as a two-sport student athlete. After high school, he accepted a combined academic and athletic scholarship from Limestone College in Gaffney, South Carolina. At Limestone College he played baseball and graduated in 2008 with a double Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology and Chemistry with a minor in Mathematics. After achieving his undergraduate degree, Dr. Torrance returned home to Sarasota, where he gained experience working in Marketing before beginning medical school.

In 2013, Dr. Torrance graduated medical school from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Bradenton, Florida. He went on to complete his Family Medicine Residency in the Greater Philadelphia Area. Dr. Torrance is Board Certified in Family Medicine and is licensed to practice medicine in the states of Florida, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He recently finished his fellowship in Sports Medicine in Vineland, NJ. He continues to specialize in Family Medicine, functional medicine, and sports medicine.

In 2017, Dr. Torrance was hired to do Interventional Orthopedics at New Regeneration Orthopedics of Florida by Dr. James Leiber.

Dr. Torrance has been through continuing education in Functional Medicine through the California Center for Functional Medicine. Also, Dr. Torrance was invited to work on the medical staff at the 2016 CrossFit Regionals and 2016 CrossFit Games.

Alongside his medical career, Dr. Torrance has continued his athletic pursuits. He has achieved a ranking as a semi-professional beach volleyball player, and trains as a competitive CrossFit athlete. His recent sports accomplishments include finishing 197th in the Mid-Atlantic Region as an individual athlete in the 2016 CrossFit Open, as well as qualifying a team for the 2016 Kill Cliff Granite Games.
